Civil Designer

SUMMARY

Prepare site and subdivision plans in concert with the project manager. Tasks would also include the design of stormwater management facilities and preparing Stormwater Management Reports pursuant to NJAC 7:8. Applicant should be prepared to work with AutoCAD to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• Prepares drawings, specifications, and other engineering related items based on coordination with the Civil Engineer.
• Prepared site plans and subdivision plans including grading design, utility design, stormwater maintenance plans, soil erosion and sediment control plans and construction details.
• Computations related to cut and fills for proposed developments.
• Other duties may be assigned as the needs of the department change.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 2 to 5 years of related site/civil land development experience or possess relevant work experience
• Engineer in Training Certificate required; Professional engineering license encouraged
• Knowledge of municipal, county and state land use regulations in NJ
• Proficiency in stormwater management analysis, hydraulic design, grading and other site development related designs
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
